The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is one of the world's smallest sovereign states. There is nowhere else like it in Europe where you will find such an outstanding mixture of historic sites with some contemporary architecture. The capital city is one of the institutional seats of the European Union, hosting the Secretariat of the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice.

Considered to be the national dish of Luxembourg is a meat dish called Judd mat Gaardebounen, smoked collar of pork with broad beans. The pork is soaked overnight and then boiled with vegetables and spices. Not to be outdone are the Michelin rated gastronomy with their unique experiments in symphonic diversity. Founded in the year 963, the Old City of Luxembourg turned a rock into a legendary fortress among the most powerful in Europe of the 16th Century. The 17th Century saw the creation of the famous casemates and subterranean vaulted spaces. Despite the dismantling of this spectacular defense complex, the most visually arresting parts of the fortress have survived. The fortress and the Old City were listed in 1994 as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Luxembourg City is an energetic and bustling capital that has a myriad of tourist attractions to visit and to delight in.
